To use asterisk with the open source CMUSphinx speech recognitoin engine
please try AST-UniMRCP and unimrcp server with the pocketsphinx plugin:

http://code.google.com/p/unimrcp/wiki/PocketSphinxPlugin

It's a recommended way to use Pocketsphinx with asterisk.

It's somewhat hard to compile but it will work fine if you will do
everything properly.
