Derek,
    Download gastman from CVS. If you look at the gastman.c file, it 
sort of spells out how to get info to and from Asterisk. Very neat 
interface. It's graphics aren't reliable on my installation but the IP 
conversations are robust. I would suggest modeling your application's 
PBX communication after gastman. Good luck!
