For what it's worth, I didn't mean it to be passive-aggressive nor
offensive. My mail was intended to a) be another data point in the whole
external libraries discussion b) express that the external pjproject
efforts are worthwile and are probably going to be useful even before
Asterisk 12 or the chan_sip replacement.
The intention was to be constructive; even if I didn't succeed, I don't
think I deserve such an answer. Pointing out what you felt was the
problem would be enough, I think.

I don't understand how it's rude, unless you're implying that I knew
beforehand and waited until after the release to complain. I assure you
that's not the case. Also, note that the fact that it's unfit for Debian
as it is isn't my call; it is well established that no embedded
libraries are allowed in Debian and even if I chose to ignore it, it
would certainly result in the upload being rejected by others. But I
think we discussed this extensively in this past month.
As for the reason it took me that long, FWIW it's that for personal
reasons I'm doing far less Asterisk packaging than I used to do. I still
care about Asterisk and its future, hence my participation in this
mailing list. Tzafrir is doing most of the work nowadays, but I assume
that he's quite busy himself, so I've commited the 1.8->10 updates and
had a look at 11 just this weekend.
On that note, if anyone on this list has some basic Debian packaging
skills and is interested in helping out, I'd be more than happy to guide
them through the package and be their sponsor. We could certainly use
more hands.
Regards,
Faidon
