Russell, good to see this discussion.

I agree with Mihai that it would be helpful to reduce the time between
releases. That has two benefits: (a) there is less time for bugs to
accumulate, and (b) people wanting the new features don't have to wait
so long for a release incorporating them.

I'd also like to toss into this discussion a post I made back in May
