For reasons which remain unclear to me, music on hold in Asterisk 1.4b3 using the native file format is very loud as compared to the identical setup using Asterisk 1.2.9. This is using the default asterisk music files (calm river etc.). Were they re-sampled or repackaged in 1.4 which would make them much louder? John
