[asterisk-dev] How to write new application for Asterisk by using C

I hope you are well.
 
I am going to write new application for Asterisk by using C. Could you
please instruct me how to patch it into Application API?
 
In general case, could you show me steps for development a new application,
or Codec translator API, or any loadable module in Asterisk?
 
Please give me your suggestion if possible.
