There are 2 versions of the disclaimer. 1 allows you to renounce your
interest in the copyright and allow all to use it as if in the public
domain. The other one allows Digium specifically a license to your code
but you retain copyright in the code.
As for your own copyrights, remember that unless you purchase a license
from Digium, you received the software under the GPL and are bound by
that license. So while you would still have copyright, be aware what
your responsibilities will still be under that license.
