[Asterisk-Dev] Persistant values in ast_channel

Asterisk keeps making a new ast_channel throughout a call. I've added
some variables to ast_channel and they are constantly being lost.

I can't seem to find where the values are copied from the old channel to
the new one.

Does anyone know what function I can modify ensure that these variables
copy over?
