There is a difference between allowing stupid people to do stupid things, and 
allowing stupid people to do stupid things for no good reason.  As I said 
earlier, I can't think of a single case where ANYONE benefits from using _. 
to catch special extensions, and the only examples I've seen could just as 
easily use the 'i' special extension, saving not only confusion, but also one 
extension character!  :-)

As I said earlier in this thread: I am a *huge* proponent of allowing people 
to shoot themselves in the foot.  I do, however, feel that there should be a 
good reason to allow such behaviour (i.e. sometimes the only way to solve a 
problem is to aim a gun at your foot).  I don't see that "good reason" with 
_. matching special extensions.
