I don't think 300 kbytes/sec for one E1 (30 voice channels plus 1 signalling channel) is too sensitive for current 100
mbit/sec (~12 mbytes/sec) network.

Is 286 bytes packet (272 bytes of encapsulated data) is too small for cheap switches? I don't believe.
