Yes, it does. IAX2 uses frames with 20ms of audio where TDMoE uses
frames with 1ms of audio. If your echo cancelation is working on the
pstn interface points then those 20ms wont hurt anybody.

The advantage of IAX2 and trunking is that it will only use the
bandwidth when the channels are actually in use. With TDMoE you 
always use the bandwidth, plus you get a load of small packets
(caused by the small latency) which might bring down a cheap
switch.
