Get
http://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk/g729/register_utility/32-bit/register
Change its ABI using brandelf:
brandelf -t Linux register
chmod 755 register
and use linux_base-gentoo-stage3 libs, with linux_base-fc4 doesn't work.
We are using asterisk-1.2.17 + zaptel-1.2.3 + codec_g729a.so, codec
translation works great and we can use our TE110P for E1 connection too.
On our tests this codec works with atesterisk 1.2.14, 1.2.15, 1.2.16 and
1.2.17, it doesn't work with 1.2.13, probably doesn't work with asterisk
<= 1.2.13.
