[asterisk-biz] XO SIP Trunk

Sounds like your client ported the number they were using with you and
continued using it.

In our case, neither we nor our client were involved in the port. Our client
lost the use of the number (the front door to their business was nailed
shut) because of an apparent typing error in a Verizon store.

Once we were able to get the right people involved at XO it took only a few
hours to correct the problem, but we were not able to get it fixed through
"proper channels."

Your point is well taken, though. XO has no qualms about upsetting a
customer.

This is not a attempt to vindicate XO in any way, I am not a fan of their
service.

However, I did have a number ported out from Paetec to ATT without our
approval (forged LOA), found out about 9 months after the fact, customer
thought they were slick in forging the required docs.

The customer then did not pay on the ATT account and was dsco'ed. All
attempts to regain the numbers have been fruitless.

So I feel your pain but I think that the carriers are so gun shy of snap
backs that they prefer to upset a customer rather that run the ris,
regardless of the documentation and proof on hand.

Alex

XO's SIP offerings aren't competitive if you just want vanilla SIP trunks.

Also, after a dozen years of PRI service (maybe the wrong term!) from XO,
I'm glad to be done with them. We made our original decision based on the
physical plant and the very capable technical staff in Minneapolis.

Initially, customer service was very good--handled locally in Minneapolis;
when monthly revenue from us fell below a couple thousand (because of
competitive reduction of PRI pricing), we were assigned to a succession of
trainees in Nashville.

Just one example of service after that was how they handled one of our DIDs
being hijacked accidentally by a cellular port. We discovered it when we
learned that the number was not-in-service at Verizon Wireless rather than
going to our client. Our customer service rep insisted that it would be a
few weeks to port the number in and we had to sign an LOA for our Verizon
account that doesn't exist. She refused to escalate it or, as I suggested,
talk to someone in her department who had experienced the situation before.
It took about a week.

Hello,

Does anybody have SIP Trunk services with XO Communications? Do they even
offer it without CPE equipment? The description on the XO site seems a
little vague and convoluted.

Thanks,
