I'm going to speak up and support Alex. We are a CLEC in eight states, and
we have
interconnection agreements directly with LECs, as well as agreements with
other carriers for off-net traffic, so we know what we're talking about.

Voipjet either is 1) clueless, 2) misleading customers, or 3) fraudulently
routing traffic and will get caught . The whole "routing through Canada"
bit makes me think it is the latter.

That being said, there are ways to get around paying NECA rates for
termination calls, but so far they are unethical
at best and possibly illegal in a civil sense. A local CLEC here is
fighting that battle and so far, losing.

Oh come off it. If you think non-rboc traffic is a "significant portion of
your profit" you obviously haven't been in this business very long!

Voipjet is obviously reselling someone else [since they aren't a CLEC,
that's the only way], and they obviously haven't examined their contracts
closely. With their obvious lack of knowledge of this industry, it won't
surprise me one bit when they throw in the towel after their carrier calls
their contract or even cancels it.
