Thanks Bob for your response. Yes, I am looking for a way to have 100%
VOIP, if it's still unreliable, I guess the analog line stays, of course
there is the cell-option, do you still have to have a analog port if you get
the cell-option and as far as I know that's reliable, in fact, IMHO more
reliable, someone could always cut your phone line and then if you have
cell-option AFAIK you are ok?
I am hoping the alarm companies adopt quicker to the internet.

Be very careful here. I work in this industry and can tell you that
certain alarm formats are VERY sensitive to VoIP. Your best bet is to
avoid it until the industry comes up with an Alarm-over-IP standard. It
may work today and not tomorrow. It may work over long distance
numbers, but not over 800 numbers. It gets weird. Personally, I blame
the cost-saving efforts of our friendly neighborhood telcos...
Now if you're talking about analog-Asterisk-analog then you'd probably
be fine.

Has anyone successfully hooked up ADT or Brinks home alarm system to say
a analog port or SIPURA through Asterisk?
TIA
