Well, if it is an APC unit that will gracefully shut down the machine it
should be OK, it will just cost you few extra backs.
I would definitely wouldn't go with something that would just cut the
power to the machine; as most of the time nothing will happen but there
will be a time that some file might get corrupted.

It is alway good idea to have a relabel ssh access, as you will have a
chance to fix other issues with ssh as well. So in my opinion ssh is
cheaper and more relabel. Linux in general is a reliable machine
especially ssh access.
