[Asterisk-Users] TDM04b and echo

We have occasional echo, mostly on lines that come across as quiet.. I am
trying to troubleshoot how to disolve the echo. i have tried the steps on
voip wiki, but have not recently been able to make any difference.

the echo isnt horrible most of the time, and seems extremely random in
that i can call a number once without echo, then dial the same number a
second time and get echo.

things i am currently considering (and would like to know if these might
be useful)

1> upgrade from 1.09 ( asterisk at home ) to 1.2 cvs code base
2> when the phone lines were pulled off the T1, sets of four were grouped
into wire pairs inside a single cat 5 wire. So coming from the punch down
block to the tdm are 2 cat5 cables (i  have 2 tdm cards) each containing 4
lines with what i assume is marginal shielding from each other.

am i way off-base on these hopes?
