Thanks Tom!

Wasn't aware of that. Installed Asterisk by hand to do some learning, but
getting a Cisco phone up and running is not something that I'd like to spend
more time than necessary to do.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Bjorn,

Save yourself the trouble with the console cable. Take a spare PC,  
install Asterisk at Home, setup  the included DHCP server, install the  
appropriate files in the /tftpboot directory, and plug the PC and the  
phone into the same switch.

Voila!
