Of course, it all depends on phone/Asterisk configuration on how you get
your transfer done and via what buttons. However, for most, # then
number will initiate a blind transfer which is controlled by Asterisk,
where as the Transfer button on the phone will put the caller on hold
(causing MOH), and open a second SIP call to the person we will be
transferring too. In this way, consultative transfers are controlled by
the phone itself. It controlls the two "lines", it automatically sets
one call on hold, it sends the request when you are ready to initate a
transfer from one to the next, etc, etc, etc...

On my sip phone I hit transfer number send and it ring..

If you are using blilnd, you will never hear music. Blind
transfer is
when you hit # and then the number. It immediately sends the
call to
the next party (returning ring to them) without you ever having
spoken
to the next person who will receive the call. To the transfer
recipient, it seems as if the call is coming in from the
originator, not
as a transfer from you to them.
Consultative transfer is where you press the transfer button,
the caller
goes on hold (gets MOH), you dial Bob's extension and explain to
Bob who
is calling. Then you press your transfer key to confirm and the
call
moves over to Bob's extension.

What is the difference
Blind is when I press transfer on my phone, what is
consultativce?

If you have one, you have the other. During
consultative transfer, the
music will play automatically if your MOH is working.
During blind
tranfer the call is immediately routed and starts
ringing for the
caller so you hear no MOH.
