Four E1s (120 channels) worth of concurrent faxing is easy, sure, but you're
not likely to be able to (or want to) do that in software.

Assuming you're looking for a full-featured fax implementation including ECM
error correction, V.34 (33.6) speed faxing, as well as real-time image
(re)compression for optimal performance, then you're talking about a
non-trivial amount of CPU cycles to drive multiple E1 circuits. These cycles
are commonly offloaded to a dedicated fax board. There's lots of them out
there, including V.17 boards such as those from NMS Communications,
Digi/Patton Cyclades, and PIKA Technologies, as well as the more capable
V.34-capable boards from EICON and Brooktrout.

Of course you'll need robust fax software to power the boards ... there's
several good options available on that front too ;-)
