Howdie-
Thanks for the suggestion-- here's how I "solved" the issue:
Tried to do this with sox & hexdump-- but just couldnt figure out hexdump's 
"-e option" ie: format string.

So, what finally worked:
1-Wrote my audio to RAW headerless u-law with AUDACITY on the mac

2-Exported hex Data to "Java Source" with HEX-WORKSHOP on NT
http://www.hexworkshop.com/

3-Replaced Data Portion of header file, enter.h, w/data portion of "Java 
Source" file w/EMACS on linux

4- Recompiled asterisk with new Meetme enter audio alert.
