You can check out the YakaPhone and its OEM derivatives at
www.yakasoftware.com. It is IAX/IAX2, simple, open and you can use it with
any server to see if it fits your stability requirements.

Can you provide a demo of some sort? Most softphones I have seen are
unstable, especially IAX2 softphones.
