[Asterisk-video] app_mp4 - Asterisk 1.4 or 1.6?

Hi,

I'm wondering if app_mp4, or video recording in general, is known to 
work better with Asterisk 1.4 or Asterisk 1.6?

I have been working with 1.6, assuming that it was more mature with 
regards to video - is this true? Or should I be using 1.4?

In either case, are there any unofficial branches or patches for video 
that I should be aware of (at least to try out)?

My goal seems simple - I want to record audio+video from Asterisk and 
end up with a file that can be read by other programs (with some 
transcoding in between if necessary).

I was using app_mp4 before but the video files had messed up dimensions 
in other players (they were fine when played back with mp4play) - I 
think it's possible it was the version of Asterisk I was using, but I 
could be wrong (sorry, I can't provide debugging info for that as I'm 
starting fresh now).

If there is any such thing as tried-and-true when it comes to Asterisk 
video recording (meaning version numbers, patches, etc), please let me know!
