Well, the issue here is licensing really. We already have a GSM frame.
I think it should be ok to handle AMR frames and maybe have subframes
for each type. One issue then will be that there can be negotiation  
within
the stream so we might end up with different ends of the conversation  
negotiating
different codecs that we can't support...

i don't know how far down the AMR decoding ladder we can walk without
being on thin ice license-wise. I might be far too cautious.

I would like a patch for AMR pass through and accepting old GSM
as an AMR subtype.
