Unfortunately, the majority of my customers are using 1.8. We do have some
customers on Asterisk 11, but that doesn¹t have this option either.
I looked at the changes for this feature
(https://gitorious.org/asterisk-tools/asterisk/commit/14cd18d04125ebd8b78e9a
efcb2c98eb48b741d4). Unfortunately, it doesn¹t look like it will be
straightforward to back port it to either Asterisk 11 or 1.8.

Henry,
Both Montior and MixMonitor have a 'B' option that plays a periodic tone.
B([interval]): Play a periodic beep while this call is being recorded.
interval - Interval, in seconds. Default is 15.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a
hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build
a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate,
act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a
computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
Specialization is for insects.
