I understand and agree.

There is one client who prefers having the attended transfer still display the original caller ID because some users still just hit
transfer and hangup. The boss has a few times got caught saying "What" when he thought it was an internal call but really wasn't.

The point of an attended transfer is to announce the calling party.
When you hit transfer on the Polycom you have the option to select
Blind on the screen. A blind transfer will use the caller id of the
incoming call, not the person making the transfer.
