I've heard that Grandstream uses TI Telogy DSP devices, which might help explain
their reliable operation at T.38 data level.  Telogy got started in early 1990s and
was one of the first outfits to make it big in VoIP.  They were acquired by TI in
1998 for about 850m.  During the late 1990s period, Telogy did a lot of work on FoIP,
including helping to write RFCs, contributions to ITU study groups, etc.
