[asterisk-users] Channelized T1

Can a Cisco router, with a NM-1CE1T1-PRI or equivalent port, pass the voice as SIP to an asterisk box instead of to RJ48 ports?

I know this is technically a Cisco question, but this list seems to have the best support, and it's somewhat asterisk related.
