[asterisk-users] mwi with sip

Hi,

I am trying to utilize MWI with sip channel.
 when my client sens a SUBSCRIBE to asterisk I get info that user not found:

does user have to be registered in asterisk????
I am using asterisk as media server but my users are registered at other sip
proxy.

Please point me what do I miss?
