[asterisk-users] using VM_CATEGORY to create a unique ID for each VM message

I'm running asterisk 1.4.

It is my intention to co-opt the VM_CATEGORY varaible to store a unique 
ID for each VM message left on the pbx. Specifically, I want it in the 
.txt file associated with the wav file.

This isn't technically the correct use for this variable, but I can't 
see any downsides to using it. But, I've certainly not run through every 
conceivable scenario. So, I defer to the experience of the users of this 
list.

Thoughts on this?
