You can use it to terminate calls over the internet through a company 
that terminates calls.  Like Teliax or Nufone.  You generally pay per 
minute for these calls.

If you have more then one location, however you can use Asterisk to 
connect the two locations over the internet for no additional cost 
(over the Internet service).
