[Asterisk-Users] Re: One Extension - Two Calls?

Hi,
I dont think having all the lines on your phone register w/ the same
info is the way to get this to work. I have a IP501 and each line (there
are 3 of them) can accept up to 2 simultaneous calls. If im on line 1 (ext.
301) and another call comes in to line 1, I can put the existing call on
hold and take the other call. I think (its never happened) but if a 3rd
call comes in at the same time, it will reject the call (all lines busy or
something). If this happens, just code in the dialplan to direct to line 2
on your phone (ext. 302). With the 501, there are 3 lines, so you can have
ext. 301, 302 and 303 (line 1, line 2 and line 3). Then have the dialplan
send to line 1, if its busy (has 2 concurrent calls) send to line 2, then
line 3 and so on. If you have more than 6 calls at any given time, hire
help :-)

> Polycom IP501. So do you set each line to register with the same info
then? Also, does this allow for two phones to have the same extension
number and both get the call? If so then I must have something else wrong
because like I had written, only one phone rings if two are configured for
the same extension.

starts music-on-hold on line 1. What kind of IP phones are you using.
