I've seen these in use here in Houston at the University of Texas M.D.
Anderson Cancert Treatment Center. Admin staff all carry the badges
instead of pages and cell phones, etc. The real magic is the back end
server system that has a very major voice recognition capability.
Without this the badges are useless. The voice recognitin scheme does
not require user training so it's more evolved that the voice dialing
schemes found in cell phones.
