[Asterisk-Users] Polycom Sip TEXT Messaging

So I went out and got this IP 500 phone, and see that it has something
called SIP Text messaging.    I can find NO DOCUMENTS out there in
Internetland referring to how this works, or any utility to send it
messages.  Id love to be able to send reminders and such to a phone, or
group of phones.  Is this possible? Or is this a Polycom-only feature?
