also tried the following without luck
[featuremap]
blindxfer => #1                ; Blind transfer
disconnect => *0               ; Disconnect
automon => *1                  ; One Touch Record
atxfer => *2

it still seems to want to accept only # as transfer
I am running Asterisk CVS-v1-0-03/07/05-06:50:06
