Try this:

1) You're on a call
2) Push a Line button, so that you get dialtone
3) Dial the boss extension #
4) Hey boss, you have a call from XXX
5) Push Transfer
6) You can select which call to transfer (if you have more that 1 on hold)
7) Push transfer again.
