'ls /dev/zap' shows me the Zap channel numbers as well as channel, ctl, 
pseudo, and timer.  Do you see it in your /dev/zap directory?

Check your 'udev' directory.  Are they there?  If so create a symbolic 
link from /dev/zap to /udev/zap.
