No, it's not wrong as long as the code remains GPL'ed and you don't put 
any additional clauses to the license.

As long as you're not linking code to the GPL it's perfectly fine I think...

I don't think the GPL obliges you to "give credit" to anybody. All you 
need to do is make sure you redistribute the software under the GPL only 
and that you provide the source code along with your product.
