The T400P and E400P are the original Zaptel PRI PCI cards. Jim Dixon
released the design as "open source" hardware under the GPL.

Digium is the earliest adopter of Zaptel and they have improved upon
Jim's Dixon's original work. The TE4xxP cards are Digium's own
improved versions and therefore they don't make the original T400P
anymore. However, another company, Varion, continue to produce and
sell the orginal T400P.

In fact, you could roll your own T400P, if you wanted to.

However, the TE4xxP use different chipsets (IIRC Infineon instead of
Dallas) so I am not sure how compatible they are to the T400P on the
lowest level. They are compatible from the viewpoint of Asterisk
through Libpri and Zaptel drivers, but if somebody writes a different
driver software then it is not necessarily given that that software
would work with both the T400P and the TE4xxP designs. You'd have to
ask the author of that software.
