[Asterisk-Users] Putting a call on hold

Well, your description of the scenario doesn't make much sense, but
to answer the question if its a sip channel (softphone or hardphone), then
simply press the hold button and hang up the handset. If the phone is on a
zap channel (fxs port) then press flash on the phone and put the handset
on the desk. Do not put handset back on hook, or else it will just ring
back to you.

The # is for transfering calls, not hold.
