[Asterisk-Users] Broadvoice Clicking/Popping

Thanks for the suggestion. No softphone here. This happens if any phone
answers or the voicemail. The clicking only seems to happen in the
first 30 seconds after the call is answered, only when using Broadvoice
inbound. The clicking is more like a series of three clicks about 30
secs after the call is answered then stops. I have a friend with a
similar setup and has the same results with Broadvoice. As far as the
timing source, I have several x100P's not sure if I need to do anything
extra for the timing?

Kevin

Popping and clicking noises are usually indicative of frame slips. These
are
caused by problems in RTP timing. Are you using a soft phone client like
X-Lite? Softphone clients require a lot of CPU time and rely on timely
interrupts to give good quality audio. If you're using a softphone
client
and at the same time browsing the internet or doing something else that
might use CPU or interrupts, you will experience this problem. Also even
though it's not stated anywhere, you should really have a timing source
either a digium card or one of the 'dummy' timers like ZTdummy or
ZapRTC.
