Popping and clicking noises are usually indicative of frame slips. These are
caused by problems in RTP timing. Are you using a soft phone client like
X-Lite? Softphone clients require a lot of CPU time and rely on timely
interrupts to give good quality audio. If you're using a softphone client
and at the same time browsing the internet or doing something else that
might use CPU or interrupts, you will experience this problem. Also even
though it's not stated anywhere, you should really have a timing source
either a digium card or one of the 'dummy' timers like ZTdummy or ZapRTC.
