based on the information i have (which is practically none :) it might 
be more of a configuration file issue rather than anything to do with 
your soundcard.

can you provide more details about your * setup? is the machine you're 
running kphone also running the * server? or is it on a separate 
machine? you should also post up the relevant .conf file based on what 
you're using.
