Ooops.  One more important data point: on the failed calls, I always get 
a recorded message that appears to be coming from the iconnect PSTN 
gateway switch, in a woman's voice: "We're sorry, your call did not go 
through.  Please try your call again," and then, in the famous basso 
profundo that I think is a canned 5ESS voice, "129T"
