Hi Mike,

Yes it may work with some modems depending on which chipset they use (in
fact there are some advertised as supporting asterisk) however a number
of us choose to buy from Digium in order to show our support for how
much effort they put in by developing Asterisk.

basic PCI FaxModems instead of those expensive cards listed on the
hardware page?
