Whatever phone or softphone you are using, you need to disable silence 
suppression. Why? Dunno exactly. In the newest version of Xten, the feature 
is "Advanced System Settings -> Audio Settings -> Silence Settings -> 
Transmit Silence" - Should be "Yes".
