Would anybody on the list be interested in doing Asterisk as a career?

Sokol & Associates, LLC is seeking qualified applicants to serve as full
time and contract Asterisk consultants, developers and installers.
Applicants should have a solid knowledge of Asterisk, the full line of
Digium Wildcard products, as well as strong general telecommunications and
computing skills.  Other requirements include strong communication and
problem solving skills.

The positions available include:

-Asterisk Consultant-

Consultants will act as both technical and business experts, assisting
customers in planning and executing VoIP strategies.  Successful candidates
will have the ability to design and implement both enterprise and service
provider solutions using Asterisk and other components.  Consultants must be
mature, customer-focused and capable of working with little supervision.
Consultants must have an extensive knowledge of the Asterisk dial-plan, all
channels, all configuration files, and all applications.  Some basic coding
skills (both in C and Unix shell languages) are a strong plus.

-Asterisk Developer-

Developers will work closely with Consultants to provide extensions to
Asterisk (under the GPL) and custom integration with customer systems.
Developers will also be tasked with creating and maintaining strategic
products.  The successful candidate will be an experienced Linux developer
with strong C language development skills.  Strong skills in other languages
(including Unix shell languages, PHP, Perl, and Java) will be considered a
big plus.  Developers must have some Asterisk development experience and
should have a strong working knowledge of Asterisk and related Telephony
systems.

-Asterisk Support Professional-

Support professionals need experience in installing and implementing basic
Asterisk systems.  They must also have excellent telephone skills, including
the ability to maintain excellent, positive relationships with customers.
The successfully candidate will be capable of installing one or more
distribution of Linux, installing Asterisk from CVS, implementing a basic
PBX system, configuring most Asterisk features (MOH, ACD Agents/Queues,
MeetMe, etc.)  Strong dial-plan skills are a must.


All positions are based in Kansas City, MO.  Remote work/telecommuting may
be considered but will require a proven track record of self-motivation and
focus.  Part time and/or contract work will be considered.  Hiring will
begin within the next 6 - 12 weeks.
