Is their a way in asterisk to preserve/transfer the caller ID 
information when using call group pickup?

Currently if another phone in the office rings dialing *8 will pickup 
the extension.  However the called id will appear as *8.  While this is 
technically correct, as I dialed *8, is their a way to manipulate the 
caller id so that the original CID information is displayed when using 
the call group function?
