[Asterisk-Users] IAX1 vs IAX2 for IAXtel

in the *short term* just add:

noload => chan_iax.so

to your modules.conf

Eventually we will move chan_iax2.c to chan_iax.c and chan_iax.c will
become chan_iax1.c and will likely not be a default part of the build
process.
