Yes, Debian's definition of "stable" clearly means "will never be
updated".  We run Asterisk on a Gentoo system (Linux 2.6.7-gentoo-r12
and GCC 3.3.3-r6).

It appears that you're missing a symlink for libtermcap.so, as follows:
